Profile

 Chad Clouse

I am currently an elementary PE teacher in Klamath Falls Oregon.  I am in the Middle of my fourth year of teaching and have loved every minute of it.  I also coach High School Football, which is one of my true life's passions.

I graduated from the University of Montana with degree in Health and Human Performance with a Health Enhancement Emphasis.  That is basically a fancy way of saying I am a PE Teacher.  I have now completed 5 classes through Lesley and am currently enrolled in 2 right now.  I want to get my Masters before Football season begins next year and 2 at a time is the only way to make that happen.

I am originally from Missoula, Montana.  I was born and raised there and spent the first 25 years of my life there, until I moved to Oregon for my first teaching job.  I can't wait to have the oppertunity to move back, because, in my opinion, there is no greater place than Montana.  I have been married for almost 3 years to my wife Jessica, who is pictured with me above.  The picture is of us on the Pacific Ocean during a fishing charter.

Your brochure is really eye appealing. I like the colors you used as your back ground. The information explaining the levels of vision is really helpful for parents to understand where their student might fall under. Something that I would do is maybe include a couple of sentences on what the websites are about that are included on the back of your brochure but other than that nice job.

Your brochure was informative and straight to the point. I enjoyed your visuals and found your brochure quite exciting. It would be interesting to know if you have any idea about the hard copy of your brochure having actual braille included...is this possible? Very good outline and display.

The color of your brochure caught my eye and then I had to giggle when I saw that is was on the visual impaired. Color is a great way to bring in focus on a subject. I really liked how you broke down the different levels of impairment. I also like Tammi's idea with the braille. Would be interesting if that was possible.

I really enjoyed your voice thread. I liked how you started with the things your school is doing well, then moved into the things that you could improve. It has a very positive feel to it. You also provided lots of great information. I hope you share this with your colleagues; I think it could make a difference to them! Nice job!

Great job Chad. I like how you have slides throughout the presentation, outlining what you are speaking about. You spoke clearly and explained things well. You were obviously well-prepared for your presentation. It was great how you started off on a positive note, pointing out what your school does well, before going into ways to improve.
The idea of giving AT its own section on the IEP seems like a simple fix that would be very beneficial to the team. Also, although it might be controversial to say, you are pointing out that it isn't good to just settle with what you have available, but to try and get what you need in order to benefit the students.
My only suggestion would be to fix the spelling mistake on the slide labeled "The Future." Identify is spelled incorrectly. Other than that, awesome job!

Chad, I liked how your presentation flowed from slide to slide. You started on a positive note and and then went to what you could do to enchance your use of AT devices. Very nice!

Thanks for sharing that Animoto resource. I had never seen that before and I think that it is a great resource. Students would really enjoy taking pictures and making videos. Very interesting concept. You seem to have an expansive list of resources with many programs I have never seen before. Good Job.

I think you did a great job Chad implementing technology into PE. In my cohort class, we have a music teacher and an art teacher, both elementary. They often complain that none of the stuff we are learning applies to them. I think you did an excellent job taking what you learned and applying it to your content.
